In September, the MCT2D Learning Community webinar featured guest speaker Briana Mezuk, PhD, Professor and Associate Chair, Department of Epidemiology, Co-Director, Center for Social Epidemiology & Population Health, University of Michigan School of Public Health.
Dr. Mezuk discussed the social and psychosocial aspects of diabetes care, emphasizing the importance of understanding behavior in diabetes care and the connections between mental health and type 2 diabetes. The team also conducted polls, discussed potential solutions for managing the psychosocial aspects of diabetes, and introduced a new resource, Janice Healthcare Partners, which offers a turnkey approach to the collaborative care model.
