In March 2025, the learning community webinar featured Andrew Kraftson, MD, Clinical Associate Professor of Internal Medicine and Assistant Fellowship Director - Endocrinology, Medical School.
Dr. Andrew Kraftson discussed incretin mimetic treatment for diabetes and obesity, emphasizing the importance of comprehensive nutrition plans and weight management in patient care. He presented case studies demonstrating the effectiveness of these medications when combined with dietary interventions, while also addressing concerns about potential side effects and the impact on body composition, particularly in older patients. Kraftson highlighted the need for individualized approaches to treatment, including protein intake recommendations and physical activity guidelines, and discussed ongoing developments in therapies to preserve muscle mass and manage side effects.
