What people are saying about this resource:

"I hope the short videos on low-carb diets will reinforce the discussions that I have with my patients in the office and empower the patients to initiate change.  I envision this as an introduction to ongoing learning about managing their diabetes and accessing the resources on the MCT2D website."

Intro to a Low Carb Lifestyle Video: Part 3 - Low Carb in the Real World

Updated: 07/30/24

If you have learned from Part 1 and 2 of the Intro to Low Carb Lifestyle video series, you should now understand the basic building blocks of a low-carb lifestyle, have tried out making your own low-carb meals, and adapted your meals to be more carb-conscious.
In Part 3, MCT2D registered dietitian Rina Hisamatsu will help you apply what you've been learning and practicing to real-world situations–how to eat while on the go: drive-thru's, restaurants, and at work, as well as how to stay on track in social situations, like a family gathering or party. This video addresses the need for a Big Why? Why this lifestyle change matters to you and what to do when you get on track (it's okay to get off track).
This is Part 3 of a 3-part series.
Content adapted from the Low Carb Journey, a program led by Dr. Joyce Lee, pediatric endocrinologist, Michigan Medicine, Dr. Dina Griauzde, internal medicine physician and obesity medicine specialist, Michigan Medicine, and Rina Hisamatsu, RDN, MPH, Michigan Medicine.
Special thanks to MCT2D member Dr. Bradley Sabin, internal medicine physician, for the resource request.
