Diatribe.org Interview: How to Have a Healthy Retirement With Diabetes

MCT2D Co-Directors Lauren Oshman, MD, MS, and Heidi Diez, PharmD, were recently interviewed by Diatribe, a leading patient-centered diabetes news source, on how to have a healthy retirement with diabetes. They offered tips to Diatribe's readership on how to prepare for potential insurance coverage changes when plans transition in retirement, navigating Medicare and prescription drug costs, and positive lifestyle change recommendations.
Diatribe health journalist, Melissa Schenkman, interviewed Dr. Diez on how she advises patients making choices about their Medicare coverage and prescription drug costs:
“There are different things out there that people can use to reduce their medication costs. The thing a lot of people don’t know is that there are patient assistance programs that drug manufacturers support and people on Medicare Part D will still qualify for, if they meet certain requirements.”
